Martin Møller-Lassen has been trained as a facilitator in the LEGO® Serious Play® (LSP) methodology at Hotel LEGOLAND® in Billund. It is almost an old news, but in the light of an updated website where we have chosen not to transmit the “old” news, we will bring it again.
It was an amazing week where we reviewed all facets of the method. This ranges from personal development, through team building to strategy development. It is a powerful tool that can facilitate the focus to concrete and real areas.
In practice, all workshops begin with an intro to the method. This takes about two hours, depending on the time available. However, this is an important item on the agenda, as the participants can see the use of Lego bricks as a serious tool. Likewise, the attitude changes from “I can’t build anything” to the participants completely forgetting their own “limitations” and discovering how easy it is to let their hands work. At first, many people think it should look like something and construction is important, but it’s all about metaphors and your history. It’s not what it actually looks like, but help to get the story and better remember what it represents.
After the introduction, the tasks are organized according to the final goal of the day. In short, a whole “landscape” is being built that could be you, your team, your project or your company.
Later in the day, “life” comes into the landscape and the dynamics become very clear. Who does what and what impact does it have on our goals / relationships.
The length of a workshop can vary, both in number of participants and in length. The optimal number of participants is 6-8 per group. If it is a short workshop (6 hours) there may be more participants per group, but this depends on the expected result.
A workshop can range from 6 hours to 3 days. The optimal for a workshop, e.g. in connection with the start of a new project, is 2 days with groups of 6-8 participants. We can hold workshops in both Danish and English.
If you have questions about the use of LSP or how it could possibly be used as a tool in your situation, then please contact us. We could have a meeting and talk about the possibilities.
